The Global Connectivity and Exchange Program (www.connect-bangladesh.org) revolves around exchanging information about people and culture over the world wide web. For the most part, that means working in the English language. Although Bangla is the sixth most spoken language in the world, web resources in Bangla are scarce; presumably that will change in the next few years as standards become accepted and computer skills become more widespread in Bangladesh.
I have put together a few web pages related to either learning Bangla or working in the language on various computer platforms. If you have any recommendations or comments, please feel free to send me email: jack [at] ri.org.
These pages use images instead of text-based characters to make sure that the letters are displayed correctly, regardless of platform.
