
GCE Schools Learn About US Electoral Process through “Road to the White House” Program NEW!
Bangladeshi students of the GCE Schools will have much to look forward to during the 8th, 9th and 10th of June 2009. The lucky students are from the GCE Schools Rani Bilashmoni Govt. Boys High School, Uttar Badda Islamia Kamil Madrashah and Siraj Uddin Sarker Vidyaniketan, who will get a chance to participate in the “Road to The White House” program. This program will be an interactive session conducted to educate the Bangladeshi students about U.S. Elections Procedures including the presidential elections and other relevant issues such as transition of power, democracy practices etc. The session will be carried on through discussion and Q & A, and Relief International-Schools Online is collaborating with Change Makers and The American Center in Bangladesh to organize this program at the GCE schools .

Dhaka, Bangladesh, 12 May 2009- The Relief International-Schools Online, a US based International Non Government Organization, on May 11th 2009, signed an MoU to provide ICT skills and development training to teachers in Bangladesh with Intel Corporation and the U.S. State Department Educational and Cultural Affairs Bureau (ECA). The students and teachers of the GCE schools of Bangladesh were participants in the 24 hours long International Online Conference Agenda 21 Now 2009 http://www.agenda21now.org on 23 April. This 24hour online conference was a joint project of the German UNESCO Associated Schools and the Baltic Sea Project, which together promotes learning and preserving the environment. The theme of the conference for this year was “Education is Future-What is the Future of Education”. GCE Bangladesh Schools Celebrate Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) 2009 NEW!
The Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) brought much excitement and anticipation along with it this year as Relief International-Schools Online Bangladesh decided to celebrate its importance. The organization carried out different community service projects from 24th to 26th April throughout its GCE schools network in Bangladesh as part of the Global Connections and Exchange Program. GCE BD collaborates with Bangladesh Center for Communication Program NEW!
On April 26 & 27 , 2009 Relief International-Schools Online in Bangladesh, in collaboration with Bangladesh Center for Communication Programs(BCCP), organized a computer education program for economically disadvantaged children. BCCP is implementing "IT Exploration For Children Center" at Mohammadpur in Dhaka. Students from two GCE schools, namely the British American Technology & Management Institute and Uttar Badda Islamia Kamil Madrashah, visited the IT Exploration Center and provided the basic computer training to the disadvantaged students over a period of two days. Youth and Technology Camp Organized at Proshika Center in Manikganj NEW!

Relief International- Schools Online organized a two days long youth camp program at the Proshika Center, Koitta, Manikgonj. About 25 students from 10 schools participated in a series of activities during the program .The camp program was conducted by visiting US exchange teachers from Kansas and Illinois in the the USA. Several local organizations such as Young Power in Social Action also collaborated with RI to organize the camp. Last week three GCEP schools in the Comilla cluster namely Chowara Girls High School, Shoilorani and Yusuf Multipurpose technical high school opened the Information Exchange Box received from the students of the John Marshall Middlie High School, Wichita, KS. Keeping in mind the growing demand of English as the language of opportunity in the modern era and its contribution to meet growing demands of the 21st century, Relief International Schools Online has launched its new initiative namely The English Language Clubs across the schools in the Global Connection and Exchange Program (GCEP).
