Zebra Crossing on way to School PDF Print E-mail
After a brainstorming session in the classroom, the students at the Rani Bilash Moni Government Boys High School in Gazipur came up with many project ideas, but they chose what they considered to be the most important project since every student in the school needs to cross that road in order to come to school.  In addition to students, many townspeople also cross at that point.  Students raised money to buy paint and brushes to draw a zebra crossing (pedestrian crossing) on busy road beside their school.

Project Summary (written by the students)

Our group consists of 8 members. In our school and community we have many problems. As young volunteers first we have made a group and discussed on various problems    e.g.  repairing  tube well, benches, painting class room, removing water clogging, draw a zebra cross. Finally we have decided to set up a zebra crossing between our two school buildings. With the help of our guide we have discussed with our headmaster about the project. He has helped us to concern with the Chairman of City Corporation for permission. We have needed fund, tools, paint and physical labor. We have raised funds from our classmates and bought paints, brush. Then we have drawn the zebra crossing in the selected place.

HOW WILL IT IMPACT THECOMMUNITY/ COUNTRY?  We think it will be very help full for our community & country also. By drawing Zebra Crossing, students, Teachers, parents will easily cross the road and will be able to perform their duties properly and timely. We think more students will be encouraged to give voluntary service to the Community & country also.
