Students participating in the Global Connections and Exchange Program
at the Badshah Faisal Islamic Institute have formed a student group to
combat illiteracy in their community. On Global Youth Service Day
2006, they held an informational meeting to raise awareness about
illiteracy. Throughout the rest of the year, the group will work
with community members of all ages to introduce basic literacy and
numeracy skills.
The Global Connections and Exchange Project – Bangladesh is a project of Relief International - Schools Online's Global Citizenship & Youth Philanthropy Program and has been made possible with major funding from the United States State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Global Catalyst Foundation.
