Chittagong GYSD Youth Rally PDF Print E-mail

Global Youth Service spanned the weekend from April 21 to April 23, and more than one thousand of high school age youths from twenty schools in Chittagong participated in a youth rally coordinated by Relief International - Schools Online.  The schools which were involved are participating in the Global Connections and Exchange Program.  The big event of the day was a parade through the heart of the city, with banners related to several GYSD themes: community service, volunteerism, health and the environment.

The parade ended at the Agrabad Kalakakoli School, where students from neighboring schools filled the audience.  Students from each school spoke about their GYSD projects, and their ongoing projects related to community service, and were recognized for their contribution to the good of the city of Chittagong and their neighborhoods.  The day ended with a folk song festival led by former students of the Kala Kakoli School.

The Global Connections and Exchange Project – Bangladesh is a project of Relief International - Schools Online's Global
Citizenship & Youth Philanthropy Program and has been made possible with major funding from the United States State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Global Catalyst Foundation.
