BD LINC Student Biographies
We are lucky to have such a great team of students from Bangladesh for this year's LINC Exchange Project. These students hail from all corners of the country and bring a lot of creativity and energy to the project. All of them are academically gifted, socially aware, and have a strong interest in exploring the world. Their biographies are very impressive:
Fahad Haider
Age: 16, Male
School/Year: Mastermind, 11th grade
Favourite Subjects: Math and Physics
Interests: Fahad likes reading and his favourite authors are Sydney Sheldon and Mario Puza. When Fahad is not reading, he likes to play computer games and sports including soccer, crickets, and table tennis.
Fahad is looking forward to learning about US culture and to enhancing his understanding of science and technology and he hopes to see famous landmarks during his visit to the US.
Ashik Adnan
Age: 15, Male
School/Year: Dhanmondi Tutorial, 10th grade
Favourite Subjects: Economics, Accounting and Math
Interests: Ashik likes to meet knew people and he loves to travel. He also enjoys reading Enid Blyton and Lee Child books but his real passion is playing soccer and cricket.
Ashik would like to compare differences between Bangladeshi and US schools and he hopes to visit various theme parks and museums. Ashik hopes to catch a glimpse of a very uncommon sight in Bangladesh – people playing baseball!
Zunayeed Noor Alam
Age: 16, Male
School/Year: B.A.F. Shaheen College, 12th grade
Favourite Subjects: History, Military Science and Physics
Interests: Zunayeed likes playing golf and tennis.
He also an avid traveler and has visited almost every district in Bangladesh. While on the exchange, he would like to see some of the latest innovations in science and would like to see California’s Governor - Mr. Schwarzenegger himself!
Prinon Turio
Age: 16, Male
School/Year: Oxford International School, 10th grade
Favourite Subjects: Physics, Computer and Math
Interests: Prinon enjoys listening to Hip Hop music, reading science fiction and photography.
Prinon would like to learn something about the “American way of life” and culture and looks forward to participating in community work during is stay.
Shama Naz Siddiqui
Age: 15, Female
School/Year: Mastermind, 11th grade
Favourite Subjects: Literature, Physics and Math
Interests: Shama is looking forward to meeting new friends during the exchange and hopes to share cross cultural experiences and learning with both her Bangladesh peers and the US exchange participants.
Shama would also like to engage in community service while she is in the US and hopes to apply her new knowledge when returns to Bangladesh.
Arpita Chowdhury
Age: 17, Female, 11th grade
School/Year: Chittagong College
Favourite Subjects: Mathematics and Physics
Interests: Arpita is an avid reader and enjoys debating.
She expects to strengthen her leadership skills as a result of participating in the LINC 2007 program and she is interested in learning about the cultural heritage of the US.
Md. Nazmus Sayeed Sharon
Age: 17, Male
School/Year: Notre Dame College, 11th grade
Favourite Subjects: Computer Studies
Interests: Nazmus is an avid reader and he is currently reading Orhan Pamuk’s “My name is Red”.
Nazmus looks forward to comparing the similarities and differences between US and Bangladeshi culture.
Tofael Ahmed Sony
Age: 17, Male
School/Year: Sunamgonj Government College, 11th grade
Favourite Subjects: Chemistry and Mathematics
Interests: Like many Bangladeshis, Tofael enjoys cricket but he also spends his time writing stories and poems.
Tofael hopes to engage in various community service related activities during the LINC exchange to the US.
Israt Naznin
Age: 17, Female
School/Year: Chittagong Government Women’s College
Favourite Subjects: Mathematics and Physics
Interests: Israt enjoys traveling and would like to see museums during her trip to the US.
During the exchange, she hopes to learn about innovations in science and technology and experience the American “way of life”.
Md. Samiul Hoque Chishty
Age: 15, Male
School/Year: Gulshan Model High School, 11th grade
Favourite Subjects: Math and Physics
Interests: Samiul enjoys playing billiards.
He would like to expand his knowledge of American culture and he would enjoy the chance to learn more about space technology during the exchange.
