GCE Bangladeshi students discuss MDGs in Online Forum PDF Print E-mail
In the month of July, Bangladeshi school students took part in a vibrant discussion on MDGs on an online forum which is a part of online monthly collaborative project under the Global Connections and Exchange Program. The discussion can be found at Online Forum Through this project students learned about the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), its history and background. They also participated in a vibrant online discussion as to why achieving MGDs is important for Bangladesh, what Bangladesh has done so far towards realizing the MDGs and how the youth can work towards realizing the MDGs in their communities. Besides the discussion on online forum, the students also prepared power point presentations on MDGs.

The participants of the online collaborative project have stressed the importance of education in combating poverty. Many students have admitted that poverty, specifically hunger, are two key obstacles in achieving MDGs and recommended that the poverty should be tackled through spread of education.

The Global Connections and Exchange Project – Bangladesh is a project of Relief International - Schools Online's Global
Citizenship & Youth Philanthropy Program and has been made possible with major funding from the United States State Department Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, and the Global Catalyst Foundation.
