Teachers associated with the Global Connections and Exchange Program have always set remarkably high standards for themselves when it comes to performance and diligence, and it is refreshing to see that they not only live up to everyone’s expectations but often also surpass these. Mr. Mustafa Kamal, one of the GCE Lead Teachers from Brahamanbaria district in Bangladesh has been selected for a six week long international teacher exchange program to USA. Mr. Kamal works as an Assistant Headmaster at Brahmanbaria High School in Brahmanbaria.
He has been participating in the GCE program since 2008 and has attended the Teacher Professional Development under the GCE program. Relief International-Schools Online has been implementing the GCE program in Bangladesh since 2004.
“The GCE program has allowed me to tap into a world of boundless knowledge and information. I used the Internet at my school computer lab provided by the GCE program to access information about various teacher exchange programs, and subsequently applied for the TEA (Teaching Excellence and Achievement Program) under the University of Nebraska- Lincoln (www.unl.edu).” said Mr. Kamal. He flies to the USA in September 2009 to attend the exchange program.
The TEA program is funded by The Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of US State Department and administrated by IREX (International Research and Exchange Board).
