Q&A Live: Dr. Carolyn Lukensmeyer on Civic Engagement and Public Decision-Making PDF Print E-mail

Dear State Alumni member,

Please join fellow alumni for a discussion tomorrow on civic engagement and public decision-making.

On Thursday, October 15, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. EDT* (14:00 – 15:00 GMT**), Dr. Carolyn J. Lukensmeyer, the founder and president of AmericaSpeaks, will join the State Alumni community for a Q&A Live discussion on civic engagement and public decision-making. Dr. Lukensmeyer brings extensive experience in deliberative democracy, public administration, and organizational development, and through her work with AmericaSpeaks, over 145,000 people have used deliberative tools to impact their communities. Please review Dr. Lukensmeyer's bio to learn more about her experience.

Dr. Lukensmeyer welcomes your questions or comments. You are invited to discuss topic such as how to use technology to facilitate effective community dialogue, ensure diverse and representative participation in public decision-making, incorporate public officials in community-based discussion, and make civic engagement work under difficult circumstances (emergencies, political unrest, etc).
