Relief International is pleased to invite applications from the Bangladeshi youth (12 to 18 years old) to participate in the ICT and Youth Leadership Grant competition 2010. The grant competition is a part of Global Connections and Exchange Program-Bangladesh.
The GCE is a project of Relief International, which has set up internet enabled computer centers in Bangladesh to facilitate ICT based education and cross cultural projects for students, teachers and communities. In addition to promoting mutual understanding and enduring ties among schools, teachers and students across borders, GCE programs empowers communities with access to information, exposure to ICT and opportunities for participation in public life.
In 2010, RI will award 10 grants to implement community service projects which encourage education, social awareness, human rights, youth volunteerism, community development, cross cultural collaboration and dialogue, youth activism for social change, social entrepreneurship, and health. The winning project should clearly specify how ICT such as computer, internet, digital camera, website, blog, wiki, multimedia, mobile phone, etc will be utilized in the project.
Application guidelines
• One person can submit maximum 2 project proposals. Please download the application at www.connect-bangladesh.org or www.gcepbd.ning.com. Download Application Form
• The project proposal should clearly specify how ICT will be used in the project activities
• Deadline for the application is 31st January, 2010
• Winners will be announced by 7th February, 2010

Eligibility
• Participants of GCE Bangladesh program (aged 12 to 18) are eligible to apply for the grant.
• Potential candidates for the award have to be familiar with computer, Internet, email, website etc.
Awards
• At least 10 projects will be selected for the grant
• Each of the winners will receive a certificate and financial support to implement their project. The budget for the project should not exceed 13000 Bangladeshi Taka
• Winners may be invited to an Award Ceremony in Dhaka. Economy transport cost, accommodation and some expenses will be covered
• Winning projects will be posted on GCE website and GCEP BD Ning site.
