Most of the classes at the Chowara Girls School take place in the two-story main school building. The ILC is near the front gate. The school borders a large and scenic lake.
The Chowara Boys' High School is the counter part to the similarly named Girls' school. The schools are a few minutes from each other by foot. The school has a large lawn, often occupied by football players.
Comilla is located along the way from Chittagong to Dhaka, and is a trade center. Although the surrounding area seems rural, millions of people live in and around Comilla.
The Chowara Girls' School held a grand opening celebration in early May 2005. The center was dedicated by Monirul Haque Chowdhury, a Member of Parliament. Several additional dignitaries attended the opening including District Education Officer Ali Mia.
Lead teachers at the Chowara Girls' School created their own course in computer fundamentals and ran the course for the benefit of other teachers at the school.
