It is said (by Bangladeshis) that everyone in Bangladesh is a poet; the
Bangla language seems particularly suited to produce pleasant sounds
and meters. Many ordinary people jot short poems and musings and then
file them away, never to see the light of day. Who knows what literary
gems are tucked away between the leaves of heavy books, or lay
forgotten in a desk drawer? |

It was a dark and stormy day. Teacher from ILC host schools and
satellite schools had come from far and near to participate in the
third Teacher Professional Training seminar series offered through the
Global Connectivity program. From July 5th to July 7th, these teachers
were introduced to the project’s blend of technology and teaching. The
session was overseen by our education coordinator, Mohammad Nasirullah
with assistance from Biva Nag, our on-site educator from the Comilla
district. |

Relief International – Schools Online’s Bangladesh country office
participated in World Environment Day activities coordinated by the
National Forum of Youth of Bangladesh (NFYOB). Children from age 5 to
16 created artwork depicting environmental issues; more than 2,300
pieces were submitted. The art was judged by a panel, and awards were
presented two weeks ago at the Shishu (Children’s) Academy. The chief
guest at the award ceremony was the State Minister for NGO Affairs, Mr.
Lutfur Rahman Khan. He and other guests including RI-SOL Country
Director Dr. Jack Welch, and NYFOB Secretary General Dulal Biswa, and
several members of Save the Youth Forum. |
